1. Work on your dissertation writing during times you are most industrious.
Do you create well early in the morning, or perhaps are you sleepy to write your academic work? Can you work late in the evening, or maybe do you need a break? Do you prefer reading/researching on the same day you write and do you prefer writing first and then come back to some other sources, or the vice versa? When you define the hours, which are most industrious for you, try to plan those hours for your dissertation writing. If possible, you should plan the schedule of your work, chores, and errands so that you keep your industrious hours your dissertation writing.
2. Work on your paper in a space when you can be industrious.
Find out where you write well and intend to be there during the dissertation work hours. Are you productive at home or on campus? There is no sense in intending to write at home a couple of days a week when you relax watching Oprah each time you attempt to work at your table. The same is in the situation when you do your best writing in your home study, so try to evade planning your days in the way you are held on campus day, with no access to your workspace.
3. Find out how you work best.
Make up rituals of work that could assist you to get more done. Lighting frankincense, brewing a pot with a special sort of tea, pulling out a preferred pen, and some other ritualistic behaviors may signal your brain “it is high time to get down to work.”
